Refreezing is the last step in developing emotional competence. Refreezing is the process of making new behavior relatively enduring and resistant to change.

So far, you have been depending on the exercise of reinforcing positive emotions and overcoming negative emotions based on your statements and management of stimuli. In the absence of these, there is a possibility that you may return back to the old way of behaving.

Therefore, refreeze your new pattern of behavior to make it a part of your behavioral repository so that even in the presence of negative stimuli, you show the new pattern of behavior.
