Your Best

If it is not, they will not buy the thing. In the same way, if you perceive that achieving excellence is more valuable than, or at least equal to its price, you will be willing to pay this price.(I assume that you have value for excellence as you have made it your dream.) let us see how dedication, persistence, and hard work can be  put in practice.

Dedication:
You can put your best when you have dedication for what you do. Dedication to work implies your full involvement with your work, your total commitment to your work. When you are dedicated to your work, your work becomes everything for you when you are working. With dedication, you will not feel satisfied so long as your work is not completed to your utmost satisfaction.

Vince Lambardi has said:    
    
The quality of a person’s life is in direct proportion to his commitment to excellence, regardless to his chosen field endeavor.

Dedication emerges from your passion for excellence and leads to persistence and hard work. People respect you when you give your best to them.

Persistence

Persistence is the state of being involved in a work on continuous basis. Persistence in a work brings result which appears to be very difficult or even impossible. With persistence, a rope makes line on a stone while stone is hard and rope is soft. Lucretius has said:

The drops of rain make a hole in stone, not by violence but by soft falling.

When continuous rain drops can make hole in a stone, why cannot you achieve your goals when you have persistence? When you have persistence, your verbal cues are: for the most difficult work, you will say, “Why this work cannot be done? It is bound to be done.” Persistence is a great strength of any person. Louis Pasteur has said:

Let me tell you the secret that has led me to achieve my goal: my strength lies in my tenacity.

Hard work
Vince Lambardi has said:
Dictionary is the only place where success comes before work. Hard work is the price we must pay for success. I think you can accomplish anything if you are willing to pay the price.

Achieving success through excellence requires hard work on continuous basis. Success through excellence or even without excellence is not something that anyone will give you in a silver plate and you take it. It is earned by your hard work. Those who have achieved excellence have always put hard work. Einstein has said:

It is not that I am so smart; it is just that I stay with problems longer.

For putting hard work, you have to inculcate habit for that. While your challenging goals may motivate you to put hard work, by practice, you can develop on your own the habit of putting hard work. When you put a little bit extra effort, you get better result and you become happy. When you become happy, you put more extra effort to get still better result. This progression continues and putting hard work becomes your habit.
Hard work to be meaningful must be in right direction, that is, it is in the direction of goal achievement. When it is not in the right direction, relationship between hard work, better result, and happiness is broken. Once this relationship is broken, progression stops.
When you put hard work, it must be genuine. If you work for 12 hours, 15 hours, or any number of hours, it must be result oriented and not just to impress others. In office, an employee coined the following approach of hard work:
Come early, go late.
Look busy, do nothing.
Remember: those who have dedication and put hard work persistently are able to achieve something great, not great eaters or great sleepers. Wishing you all your best in all your ventures.
