While analyzing the impact of the environment on the formation of one’s attitudes, the term ‘tends to be’ has been used. It implies that environmental effect may not be homogeneous for all people. This feature of environmental effect is very important in developing positive attitudes even in negative environment though it requires more efforts on the part of a person than if he had been in a positive environment. One of the best ways of negating the effect of the negative environment is to pick only those elements which are positive and avoid those which are negative. How this can be put in practice has been discussed in the next section.
