SOCIAL

	Social groups have their impact on the behavior of their members by prescribing the norms of behavior and forcing members to adhere to these norms. Social group may be in the form of friendship group, work group. Informal group created at the work place, etc. such groups force their members to adopt group norms including values through reward and punishment system. If a group members adhere to the norms he is rewarded by social acceptance. If he does not adhere to the norms, he is punished by social rejection. Therefore, if you are a member o a group that has ethical values, you tend to develop ethical values. If you are a member of a group that has unethical values, you tend to develop unethical values.

	After all: Birds of the same flock fly together. This is the reason why two children coming from the same family but having affiliation with contrasting groups develop different set of values. Previous Page \| Next Page
