.While specifying the problem, do not specify any limiting factor that is likely to come in your way of solving the problem. A limiting factor is one which you feel that you cannot overcome in the present circumstances. Specifying limiting factors implies that you will think about ideas which keep these factors in view. Further, limiting factors are not static but these can be changed by your own efforts or by some help from others.
.Generate as much ideas as possible without bothering their quality. Your emphasis at this stage must be on quantity of ideas and not their qualities. It is much more convenient to choose a good idea when many more ideas are available to choose from.
.Defer idea evaluation to a later stage because it does not flow in the direction of idea generation. You can evaluate each idea later. If you mix up idea generation with idea evaluation together, neither idea generation or idea evaluation will flow smoothly as each of these requires different types of quality. In this way, you generate lot of ideas. When the number of ideas is quite large, it is better you write these on a paper so that no idea is left at the stage of idea evaluation.
.When you have generated ideas related to the problem in an exhaustive manner, you may go through the process of idea evaluation. While evaluating each of these ideas, keep the limiting factors in mind. These limiting factors may be in the form of financial constraint, time constraint, or any other constraint you feel. Select all those ideas which may be put in practice within the constraints of the limiting factors. Evaluate each of these ideas, turn by turn, and make a comparative statement which idea is nearer to your problem solution within the given constraints. In evaluation process, it is quite possible that not a single idea be put in practice because of the limiting factors. If this is the case, evaluate the limiting factors and identify those factors which can be overcome with minimum possible efforts. Eliminate these factors from the list of limiting factors. Now you evaluate the ideas in the light of the remaining factors. When you do this exercise till you find a suitable idea, you may feel that limiting factors are not that strong as you perceived these earlier.
Through the process of storming your brain, you not only generate new ideas but you increase your creative ability too. If you storm your brain on a regular basis, the level of your creative ability will increase tremendously.
