SATURATION

	Saturation is the first stage of creativity process. Yu will notice that the most important way to get new ideas to work on a baffling problem. A problem is gap between actual state of affairs and desired state of affairs. The solution that is sort is to remove this gap. A baffling problem is one which is perplexed and has no pre-defined solution but this solution has to emerge from a new idea. In the beginning of this chapter, a quotation from Einstein has been given which reflects this phenomenon. It implies that a new kind of thinking is required to solve a problem. You can work on a baffling problem in your field only when you are fully conversant with your field.

	Even the most energetic and original mind must have attained more than ordinary mastery in his field in order to recognize or extend insight in any valuable way. Take some examples. In cricket, a swing bowler can work on reverse swing only when he has some kind of mastery over swing bowling. In music, a musician can work on a new tune only when he has some kind of mastery over conventional tunes. In the same way, you can work for a new idea only when you are well conversant with your field. Therefore, you must become thoroughly familiar with the problem itself, its history, its importance and its relationship with various aspects of work setting.
