GROUP DISCUSSION - SUMMARISING : Last stage of group discussion is summarization. At this stage, summary of what has been discussed is presented. In most of the cases, the evaluators do not ask the candidates to summaries the group discussion. Therefore, you can propose to summaries it keeping in view the time left for group discussion. Usually, summarization starts just 2 – 3 minutes before the scheduled closure of the group discussion. If you get a chance of summarizing the group discussion, observe the following points:

Do not express your feelings of being sorry that the group could not reach at a definite conclusion on the issue raised by the topic. In fact, in most of the group discussions, candidates tend to be divided; some are for the issue; some are against the issue. Avoid raising new points at this stage. Narrate briefly the views and counterviews expressed by the candidates. Mention only the relevant points as the time at your disposal is short. After summarization, thank the evaluators for giving a stimulating topic for discussion and the candidates for fruitful discussion.
