EVALUATE YOUR GROUP DISCUSSION PERFORMANCE : Like an interview, a group discussion may not be your last one even if you are selected in the very first chance. If the group discussion is meant for admission, you may be required to attend a number of group discussions during the period of your study. If it is meant for a job, you may be required to attend numerous meetings where group process remains quite similar to group discussions. Therefore, it is quite desirable that you evaluate your group discussion performance so that you can take suitable measures to overcome your deficiencies if they exist:

While evaluating your group discussion performance, you can use the questions which are relevant for the evaluating performance in a mock group discussion. However, while evaluating your performance in a real group discussion, you may observe two types of differences between a real group discussion and a mock group discussion: In a real group discussion, you may experience more formal setting because of presence of strangers, both the evaluators and the candidates. In a mock group discussion, such a formal setting often lacks. In a real group discussion, you may be quite anxious about its outcome while in a mock group discussion, you may not be so anxious. Both these differences may affect your performance adversely if you have not been able to overcome the impact of both these factors. Therefore, it is necessary to incorporate both these factors while evaluating your performance in group discussion. After the evaluation, identify your strong points as well as weak points. On the basis of these points, chalk out your plan to strengthen your strong points further and to overcome weak points.
