COMPLETING PRE-INTERVIEW ACTIVITIES In many organizations, certain pre-interview activities have to be completed by every candidate. Such activities are as follows:
|
|
After completing the above activities, take a seat in the room marked for the purpose and wait for your turn to be called for the interview. During this intervening period, do not think about the interview as this kind of thinking create anxiety in you. You may read some literature. Most of the organizations keep some relevant literature in the waiting room. If you wish, you can talk to other candidates. If waiting period is too long, you can go outside too. In fact, in many cases this waiting period, if it is too long, becomes boring and anxiety-producing. Therefore, find avenues to overcome the boring and anxiety-producing phenomenon. During this waiting period, you can also collect information about the tone of the interview and the questions that have been asked to the candidates who have preceded you. This is a very common practice adopted by most of the candidates. The information so collected will help you to take a proper stance to face the interview effectively. This is just like collecting information by a batsman about the behavior of pitch, nature of bowling, and other related information from a batsman who has just been out. This helps the succeeding batsman to decide his stance in advance of reaching at the batting crease. However, if you are the first interviewee, you will not get this opportunity.
