1.) Profile of the Immigration Lawyer, one should check weather he went to a law school, his membership with associations and other credentials.

2.) Immigration Attorney should be a member of American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA). It is not a must but it shows the specialization of the attorney.

3.) Experience of the Immigration attorney should be considered and his specialization in the immigration field, one can’t specialize in other field if he holds specialization in the field of immigration. So the Immigration attorney or immigration lawyer should have experience and specialization in law only.

4.) Website or other literature available of the Immigration Attorney or Immigration Lawyer shows how good he is at his work.

5.) One should check how fast the Immigration Lawyer responds to e-mails or phone calls, it shows his efficiency and dedication to work.
