Jewellery designing is very interesting and creative field. The more hits the more beautiful the jewellery is. Jewellery is an important part of fashion. It doubles the personality of the person. Dress without matching jewellery is just like food without salt. Jewelery Designer with a clear vision is very important. He should be aware of latest trend and fashion. Designers design the jewellery from different kinds of metals, pearls and gems which adds to the beauty of the person. In the olden days people used to have 2-3 sets of gold and silver which they used to wear with all the dresses. But nowadays everybody prefers to have matching set with all the formal dresses. All of us look for some unique designing. Therefore jewellery designers are of great demand.
The jewellery designer with good observation, fashion conscious and with the knowledge of metals, pearls, stones and gems can excel in this field.
Like other fields one can also specialized in different fields of jewellery designing. There are so many colleges and institutes who offer courses in jewellery designing. It is better to get thorough knowledge before going to this field. Most of the courses can be joined after +2. Courses are of long and short duration.

After getting training from these institutes jewellery designer can become the dealer, broker, exporter and importer. He can work as free lancer as well as with jewellery houses.
Apart of this a gemmologist can work as consultants because they have the knowledge of assessing the quality, value and use of gems for jewellery. They become expert in grading, sorting and setting of gems in different metals. They also get research opportunities in export houses.
Branded and designers jewellery is also becoming popular among the customers. The big brands offer good opportunities to the designers.
Like fashion designers jewellery designers also draw their designs on graph paper. Jewellery designers work with precious metals therefore their workshops are planned according to their nature of work. They make samples of their designs and send them in the market for selection of the design. This way they market their finished product and get orders from the jewellery houses.
The designer with knowledge, imagination, creative talent, sharp observation, quality and fashion conscious can earn as much as he can.
