FASHION MODELS
Fashion modeling is the field which is growing fast with the changing trend. Fashion modelling is full of glamour and excitement. It is an interesting field with a good reward. Like other professions there is a tough competition in fashion modeling also. Fashion modeling can be divided into three main areas. They are:
- Modelling for fashion shows.
- Modelling for fashion photographs.
- Modelling for electronic medium.
Fashion shows organizers arrange fashion shows for different designers and for different manufacturers. They arrange models to display the designs and fabric of the different designers and manufacturers. There are some fashion houses who organize their fashion shows by themselves to show full range of their product to the prospective customers.
In Fashion shows elite fashion models display designer clothes and accessories to the potential customers. The gorgeous looks and style of the fashion models in professionally choreographed setting double the beauty of the designer garments. This lures the customers to buy the product. To market the product through fashion models is one of the most effective ways to advertise your product.
Modeling is an art and not a science. It is a combination of beauty, style and expression. Models with exclusive appearance are preferred for ramp fashion shows. As they are to give live performance they should have good physique, good height and attractive features. They should have even teeth, a healthy complexion and rocking style. They should have patience also. Models should not be aggressive while waiting for long hours for their turn. Ramp models should have confidence and smiling face. Some ramp models just spoil their looks by non smiling face. Such models seem to do their job under compulsion. How can they attract a buyer for the product? Models should walk with natural flowing movements bringing attention of the spectators so that they can inspect the garment closely.
Modeling for fashion photograph and for electronic media are another areas for fashion models. For both the Medias models work in studios or on location. Still photography shoots are taken in studios and many times models go for out door shooting also. Modeling for fashion photographs is also highly rewarding. Established models take huge amount as per photograph.
Photographic models should have highly photogenic face. They should be fit and fine. They should be comfortable while going out door for photographic shoots. Fatigue and short temper words should not exist in their life. . Area of photographic and electronic media is quite vast. Every body likes to market his product through advertisement and that too with some model. So models are in great demand. The employment avenues for fashion models are many. They can work with fashion designers as well as with fashion houses. They can also work for ad agencies and export houses.
There are fashion models who work for all the three areas.
Takes and retakes are involved in photo sessions and in electronic media. It takes long hours. Frequent dress changes are also required. Working with arc lights under intense pressure of constant glare of the camera’s lens is not an easy job.
Models should have training from some reputed modeling agency. To enter in this field portfolio of photograph should be presented. They can step into this field through modeling agency or through model coordinators. There are companies who experiment with fresh faces. So to start with they can work on less amount of money. After that beauty with quality achieve the heights.
