Answering your queries is never a trouble for me. I feel elated when some one asks intelligent questions. I was 9 years old when I heard for the first time that it is not ideal to be important but to make others feel important. For so many years I was not able to relate this with success formula. But then I realized its importance when I was at other side. I started giving love and respect to those who preferred to give me the importance rather to be important. Suddenly they became my favorites, means they automatically become important in my eyes. I realized that if I start understanding others in stead of being understood, I will find a good place in their heart. We can only feel the feelings of others if we put ourselves in others shoes. Now the question comes which are the ways to make others feel important.

Start calling people by their name. One’s name is the most beautiful word in this world. Remember the occasions that are important to them. Make a record of their birthdays, wedding anniversaries etc. Give them surprise by sending your greetings on those days. Make yourself available for them. Give them more than their expectations. Be an empathizers and not a sympathizer. Do not only understand their feelings but Feel their feelings. Let them know you love them, respect them and care them.

Be gracious in giving compliments. Share their glories as well as hurts. Laugh with them. Cry with them. Do not criticize them in public. Praise in public, criticize (if it is utmost necessary) in private.
